Yeah I know Halloween is soo two months ago, but this parody cropped up on Why, That's Delightful! yesterday and served as a hilarious catalyst for remembering just how much I love Michael McDonald:
                               

Old "McDonald", for it is he, sang and wrote songs for the Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan amongst others, and to me is nigh on the gold standard for a white soul performer. By which I mean providing infectious grooves and a beautiful baritone and yet being unmistakably a podgy, bearded silver fox. 

Thanks to my Dad I used to wax The Best of The Doobies vinyl on the regs, likewise The Best of Michael McDonald is a must for any discerning lounge lover. Oddly I recall listening to it alot while I was doing my Art AS Level, perhaps just one of the reasons I got kicked off the course.
